Construction and civil video production services

Three kinds of video, each with a specific job to do for a builder, a contractor or a supplier to the industry.

Capability, project and tender films

Films that show an assessor, a client or a partner what you can build and how you go about it. We make capability films for tenders and websites, project films that follow a job from the ground up, and product films for the systems you supply or install. FJ Bitumen's is told by the crew who lay the road.

What we make

  • Capability and tender films
  • Project and milestone films
  • Brand and website films
  • Product and equipment films
  • Anniversary and event films

What it does

  • Win more tenders and contracts
  • Show a finished project to the next client
  • Equip your business development team
  • Explain technical work in plain language
  • Give LinkedIn something worth posting

Recruitment and apprenticeship videos

Operators, trades, supervisors and apprentices are in short supply. We film your own people on your own sites talking about the work, the gear and where the job can take them, so candidates see what they are signing up for before they apply.

What we make

  • Recruitment campaigns
  • Apprentice and graduate stories
  • Day in the life films
  • Employer brand films
  • Vertical cut-downs for paid social

What it does

  • Fill trade and operator roles faster
  • Attract apprentices who stay
  • Lift application quality
  • Strengthen your employer brand
  • Support careers days and school visits

Safety, inductions and procedures

Site and contractor inductions, safe work procedures, plant and equipment operation, and toolbox content, filmed on your sites with your own gear so nobody has to imagine what the written procedure means. We also make leadership updates for crews who are on the tools and rarely at a desk.

What we make

  • Site and contractor inductions
  • Safety films and SOP libraries
  • Plant and equipment procedures
  • Toolbox and leadership updates
  • SCORM and LMS delivery

What it does

  • Cut incidents and equipment damage
  • Reduce induction time
  • Train consistently across sites
  • Stay audit ready
  • Reach crews who are never at a desk

What to look for in a civil and infrastructure video partner

Two minutes on filming around live sites, and what gets planned before a camera comes out.

  • Working safely around live construction, road and rail sites
  • Site activity, timing and access planned before filming
  • Inductions, PPE and operational restrictions sorted up front
  • Complex projects and technical capability explained clearly
  • Made for tenders, recruitment, stakeholders and project updates

How a project runs

Five stages, typically about 12 weeks from signed contract to final files. Each one shows what we do and what we need from you.

Brief

A call or a visit to work out who the video is for, what it needs to do and where it will be shown.

  • One conversation to brief us
  • A plan and a quote in writing
  • Hard deadlines mapped from day one

Your part: Tell us the problem you are trying to solve.

Plan

We write the script or interview questions, choose who will be on camera with you, and speak with each person before the shoot day. Locations, schedule and site requirements are locked in before anyone films.

  • Script or interview questions
  • A chat with everyone who will be on camera
  • A schedule built around your day

Your part: Approve the plan and help us line up people and places.

Shoot

A small crew sets up quickly and works around the day you already have. We film the interviews and the work itself.

  • Small crew, little disruption
  • Interviews and overlay footage
  • Drone footage where the site allows

Your part: Have one contact on site for the day.

Edit

We cut the main film, add music, graphics and captions, and send it to you for feedback. Your changes are made, the film comes back for sign off, and the shorter social versions follow.

  • A first cut for your feedback
  • Captions, graphics and music included
  • Social cut-downs from the same shoot

Your part: Collect feedback from your team in one go.

Deliver

You receive final files in the formats each platform needs, with caption files, and LMS-ready versions for training video. We can also help you plan where each video goes and when.

  • Files for web, social and screens
  • Caption files included
  • SCORM or LMS versions for training

Your part: Publish, and tell us how it goes.

Experience across Australian construction and civil

Construction and civil clients include FJ Bitumen Services, Katana Foundations, Construct Melbourne, Formbolt, Genus Group and ICN Victoria. We have also filmed a kerbing contractor, a quarry and a concrete supplier as the customers in stories for Mack Trucks and UD Trucks.

The work covers road surfacing, foundations, formwork, concrete, kerbing and home building. Much of it is made for tenders, capability statements and recruitment, where the people assessing it know the industry and can tell when something has been staged. For power networks and public assets, see our energy and infrastructure video production, and for factory floors our engineering and manufacturing video production.

About Lift →

Construction and civil video production across Australia

Our core team is based in Nunawading, in Melbourne's east, and much of our construction work is filmed around Melbourne and regional Victoria. We also travel to where the project is. Jobs have taken us to Adelaide to film Adelaide Kerbing and to the Whitsundays for Katana Foundations.

For interstate, remote and multi-site shoots we plan a schedule that keeps travel cost low, using our Melbourne team, trusted local crew, or a mix. Lift manages the production from start to finish wherever the crew comes from.

Looking for civil and infrastructure video production in Australia? Lift Video Production is a Melbourne-based video production company creating content for civil construction, infrastructure, engineering and major project environments across Australia.

We produce:

  • brand films
  • project case studies
  • recruitment videos
  • safety and training content
  • internal communications
  • stakeholder and project updates
  • social media content

Civil and infrastructure filming comes with its own challenges. Production teams may need to work around active construction sites, road and rail projects, industrial facilities and large-scale infrastructure environments where safety, access, timing and site coordination all matter.

The right production company should understand how to work safely around live operations while still capturing the scale, complexity and people behind the project.

At Lift Video Production, we work with civil, infrastructure and engineering businesses to create video content for marketing, tenders, recruitment, project communications, stakeholder engagement and internal teams.

Before filming, we consider:

  • site activity and timing
  • access requirements
  • inductions and PPE
  • operational restrictions
  • the strongest visual moments
  • key people and technical capability

If you're choosing a civil or infrastructure video production company in Australia, look for a team that understands live sites, can work safely around operational requirements and knows how to communicate complex projects clearly.

Frequently asked questions

What directors, business development, HR and safety managers ask us before a project.

Have you worked in construction and civil before?

Yes. We have made films for FJ Bitumen Services, Katana Foundations, Construct Melbourne, Formbolt, Genus Group and ICN Victoria, and filmed civil contractors and concrete suppliers for Mack Trucks and UD Trucks. That has put us on road works, building sites, concrete pours, quarries and a barge on the Great Barrier Reef.

Do your crew have white cards?

Yes. If a white card is needed on site, we have crew who hold one.

Do your crew complete our site induction?

Yes. We complete your induction before the shoot day, turn up in the PPE your site requires, and follow your traffic management and exclusion zone rules while filming.

Can you film with drones?

Yes. We have licensed drone operators available for projects that need aerial footage, where the site and airspace allow it.

Can you film a project at more than one stage?

Yes. We can book shoot days around the milestones that matter, such as a pour, a lift or a handover, then cut them into one film at the end or release updates along the way.

We have a tender due. Can you work to that date?

Tell us the date at the start and we plan backwards from it. Typically a project from signing the contract lasts about 12 weeks, so the earlier we know, the more options you have.

Do you travel to regional and remote projects?

Yes. Our core team is based in Melbourne and we film across Australia. Construction and civil work has taken us to Adelaide, Sydney and the Whitsundays, and we have trusted crew around the country for multi-site projects.

How much will it cost?

A single project film or profile piece starts around $6K. An induction and safety video together usually land between $17K and $20K, and a recruitment or brand campaign runs $25K to $60K.
