What a corporate video is for

Corporate video is the broad name for the films a business makes about itself: who you are, what you do, how you do it and why a customer, an assessor or a new starter should care. It covers brand films, capability videos for tenders, company overviews, product films and the about us video on your website.

Two cameras and a softbox light set up in a modern office, with a presenter standing ready to film
  • Concept, script and interview questions written by us
  • Filmed on your sites with your own people
  • One shoot day cut into a main film and short versions
  • Captions, graphics and licensed music included
  • Unlimited revisions on every project

Kinds of corporate video we make

Six formats cover most of what businesses ask us for. Plenty of projects combine two or three from the same shoot.

  • Two to three minutes on who you are, told by the people who do the work. A brand film lasts for years and helps people understand what you do.

  • Your fleet, plant, facilities and people on screen, so an assessor can see what you deliver before reading the submission. We made one for KBR on its Infrastructure Solutions business.

  • The film that sits at the top of your website and opens your sales presentation. We have made them for BevChain, KTL Australia, Construct Melbourne and many more.

  • How it works and why someone should buy it. Formbolt's formwork fixing, Katana Foundations' screw piles on the Great Barrier Reef, and a television commercial for the Florence app.

  • A regulation, a process or a common question, explained once on video. We made one for the National Transport Commission on the review of the Heavy Vehicle National Law.

  • Every main film comes with shorter versions sized for LinkedIn, Instagram and paid social.

How a corporate video project runs

Five stages, typically about 12 weeks from signed contract to final files. Each one shows what we do and what we need from you.

Brief

A call or a visit to work out who the video is for, what it needs to do and where it will be shown.

  • One conversation to brief us
  • A plan and a quote in writing
  • Hard deadlines mapped from day one

Your part: Tell us the problem you are trying to solve.

Plan

We write the script or interview questions, choose who will be on camera with you, and speak with each person before the shoot day. Locations, schedule and site requirements are locked in before anyone films.

  • Script or interview questions
  • A chat with everyone who will be on camera
  • A schedule built around your day

Your part: Approve the plan and help us line up people and places.

Shoot

A small crew sets up quickly and works around the day you already have. We film the interviews and the work itself.

  • Small crew, little disruption
  • Interviews and overlay footage
  • Drone footage where the site allows

Your part: Have one contact on site for the day.

Edit

We cut the main film, add music, graphics and captions, and send it to you for feedback. Your changes are made, the film comes back for sign off, and the shorter social versions follow.

  • A first cut for your feedback
  • Captions, graphics and music included
  • Social cut-downs from the same shoot

Your part: Collect feedback from your team in one go.

Deliver

You receive final files in the formats each platform needs, with caption files, and LMS-ready versions for training video. We can also help you plan where each video goes and when.

  • Files for web, social and screens
  • Caption files included
  • SCORM or LMS versions for training

Your part: Publish, and tell us how it goes.

Joe from KBR on camera

They really do feel like an extension of our team.

They make our people really comfortable on camera, super professional, always organised. With very busy, very senior people you need to be agile and roll things out quickly.
JoeHead of Corporate Communications, KBR

Made with people who have a business to run

Corporate video usually means filming senior people who have very little time. Joe is Head of Corporate Communications at KBR, and we made the overview film for its Infrastructure Solutions business. He says we make KBR's people comfortable on camera and keep every shoot organised.

The worry we hear most is that a film crew will get in the way. Jourdan Lovatt of Scott Lovatt Container Cartage wrote in a Google review that they were "a little concerned that filming would be disruptive to our operations", and that on the day "everything continued to run as normal".

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us before a corporate video project.

What counts as a corporate video?

Any film a business makes about itself for customers, partners, assessors or staff. The common ones are brand films, capability and tender videos, company overviews, product films and explainers.

How long should a corporate video be?

Most run two to three minutes for a website or a tender, with 15 to 60 second versions for social. A shorter film that people finish does more than a longer one they leave halfway.

Who writes the script?

We do. The concept and the script are part of the job, and so are the interview questions. The pre-interviews with your people are where most of the good lines come from.

Do our people have to be on camera?

The strongest corporate films are led by your own people, and we speak with each of them before the shoot so they know what to expect. If nobody wants to be on camera, we can carry the film with voiceover and footage of the work.

Can one shoot cover more than one video?

Yes, and it usually should. A well planned shoot day gives you a main film and shorter versions for social and tenders.

How much does a corporate video cost?

A single film from one shoot day starts around $6K, and a brand campaign runs $25K to $60K.

How long does it take?

Typically a project from signing the contract lasts about 12 weeks. If there is a hard deadline, such as a tender date or a launch, we plan backwards from it.

Do you only work in Melbourne?

No. Our core team is based in Nunawading, in Melbourne's east, and we film across Australia with our own team or trusted local crew.
